This is a really lively weekend in the downtown Ottawa neighbourhood of New Edinburgh. 27 artists open their studios to the community and it's abuzz with interested people, balloons all over, cafes and coffee shops open to all. There are many different art types shown from painters, to sculptors, photographers, printmakers, jewellery makers and woodworkers.
Artsites member, Maureen Tracey, is participating for the first time and is looking forward to a super turnout. Hopefully no rain this weekend!
There is a map to all the studios once you visit the first venue on the main street, Beechwood, in New Edinburgh at Victoria Island Realty which is easy to see/find.
This annual exhibition is bound to be a major exhibition of the Winter Season and a first for Maureen at the Gallery of Caribbean Art in Speightstown, Barbados. It is a joint showing again with colleague, Christine Farmer, and will be extremely interesting due to the diversity of techniques and styles to be shown by both artists. Excitement for the Bajan artworld!

While Maureen is off-island, there is a good selection of her work available at Cafe Barbados at George Washington House. There are larger works on the wall and, in addition, smaller works including handmade reproductions are also available. Handmade ArtCards are available at the reasonable price of U.S.$5.00.
